Hi Zak! I know how you feel. I feel like that now and then and have to spend the day just unwinding (and crying!) to get myself together. I hope your day gets better!

Yes! However... think about this... there are always times when we are lifted out of our daze through inspiration and encouragement from others... that help to remind us why we are pressing forward. You, Zak, were my inspiration a few months back. Somewhat defeated before even trying... you gave me the chance to shine and start my photography. Ride out your defeat... or your "throwing in the towel"... inspiration will float your way in due time, it will. If we were on top all of the time, I don't think we could truly appreciate it as much as when we hit a wall, ya know? No struggle, no growth.

I think everyone feels this sometimes :) you definitely shouldnt quit because you're great at what you do!

heck YESSSSSS!!!! don't know if you're specifically talking about photography, but as for me.... sometimes i'm like, IS IT WORTH IT?!?!? thanks for letting me vent, hahahaha!! :)

I do. I do all the time. We were so many hats, don't we? We want to excel at all we do. And our strive for excellence is a good force, one that propels us forward. But this force is also the one that brings us down when we feel like haven't reached our best. Zak, always remember that you are AWESOME at all you do!

Funny... I've felt the same way for the past few weeks. Just can't make every shoot "unique enough" makes me wonder if I'm not cutting it.

I go through this in cycles Zak. For weeks at a time I feel like I'm never going to get anywhere, despite this being what I really want to do. If you're referring to photography ... YOU are doing it for the RIGHT reasons, and it shows in your work! You are awesome at what you do Zak, so chin up! :) And remember ... this feeling will pass, your motivation will be renewed ... as Freida said, "no struggle, no growth." It's funny, you also motivated me ... when I was feeling like throwing in the towel.

Yes, it has been a long time. 4th grade, Mr. Stones class. Lots of cherished memories and great times. And so very true, the past few years of seeing our families grow have been awesome too. As usual, great job here. We love every one of these photos. Thank you again Zak, we had a great time.

Red, it will be just a tad easier for your family to pick you out of the crowd of T-shirts. I wore a bright pink in my half marathon, and it stood out enough that they were able to see me coming. And you want them yelling for you at the end, motivation is key!

Ooooh....such a tough choice. Red is easier to spot ...but you have such an awesome game face when you're wearing the white. LOL I think I am voting white!!! You're totally gonna rock it Zak!!!

After seeing the title of the latest post ... I decided on a chapter or two from a book about a friendly spider and a famous pig for a bedtime story. :) Oh gosh Zak ... I totally love these! Gosh, wish you could have come to the fair with me! I love that flare too!!! Beautiful family!

I just love the colors and lights of a fair, and I especially love when little kiddos have big eyes from taking all the excitement in. The photos are fun and fresh feeling, and are just joyful to look at.

OH MY GOD ZAK!!! I SHOT THEM!! LOL. I just about fell out of my FREAKING CHAIR when I saw this post. When they visited Dallas last year around the 4th of July, I shot them downtown. LOL. SMALLLLLLLLLLL world. Aren't they a sweet couple? I haven't met the kiddos but they are so cute!!

Oh man! I have never seen wider eyes than these little sweethearts have... in pretty much every image. So joyful, so innocent, so darned ADORABLE! Talk about wide eyed wonder at all they see... literally. My heart just swelled and my throat tightened. (I have 2 little boys too!)! GORGEOUS captures Zak. You were right ON IT.
